PU'ER TEA TRADING CENTRE
Location: Pu'er, China
Gross Floor Area: 231,77 sq.m
Pu’er Center will be one of a few unique places in the world where premium graded locally harvested tea can be traded and purchased in a high quality setting featuring distinctive architecture. More than a commercial or educational center, this proposal is also a vibrant retail and entertainment destination that will attract shoppers and international tourists. There are 3 main planning concepts: 1. Creation of landmark architectural features, such as the Observation Tower and the leaf-like roofs of the shopping center. Excellent architecture will be an important component of this new district. 2. The use of the existing waterfront to make a strong pedestrian-oriented realm that incorporates water as an essential part of the experience. Buildings face east to the water, and there is a landscaped pedestrian promenade at the water edge. 3. Enhancement of the tea trading activity through expansion of the retail uses into a premium shopping and entertainment center. The new shopping center will be a vibrant shopping experience.
